Just as other species migrate to their seasonal mating grounds, we flock to the trailhead to remember why we exist. Every Summer Solstice we ride for 24 hours (mingled with naps and snacks).
This is year three of our storied tradition. Come for one lap, two laps, 3 laps or NONE. We will be making short laps and hanging out at base camp most of the time.
It's longest day of the year and you're required to spend it on a bike. It's your patriotic duty.
Friday 6-21 starting 3:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday 6-22
(full ride itinerary below)
Whypass (aka Carpenter Bypass)
Base camp is at the upper parking lot (aka South Park Parking). It's about 1hr 15min south of Corvallis.
If you've never ridden there, Whypass is ideal for short and sweet laps. There are no long sustained climbs.
All riders are welcome. There is something for everyone at Whypass, beginners to advanced.
This is an open table pot luck. Bring out those cliff bars that have been on your shelf for 3 years. Bring some KFC. Bring ANYTHING. With this much riding you can eat as much as you want.
Multiple changes of riding clothes, gloves, and socks keep your fanny feeling fresh. We will also have hot showers available, so bring a towel.
The main caravan will leave Corvallis at 1pm, arriving at the upper parking lot about 2:30
We will stake our claim at the trailhead. Setting up the mechanic station. Park the RV & Airstream.
We will start by shaking off the rust and build some jumping confidence:
Sunset (3-4 laps) > Don Sled > Salal > Hit Parade (3-4 laps) > SST > back to base camp
Now we are amped, let's go session on bigger boy stuff.
Ode to Joy and The Gift are just around the corner from base camp. We will lap til we hear the dinner bell.
Compliments of Seth Boyardee. If you have dietary restrictions, we will make fun of you.
Time to explore the north side. There are 2 main options that start and end at the same points. Choose your adventure.
Boundary > Northridge > Treehugger is a flowy xc style with a tasty decent at the end
Y2K is VERY fast, launching you as far as you want on smooth jump lines
We will shuttle laps until the sun goes down (9 PM)
The night riders will decide on a route. Shuttles are at our disposal.
We will hang around a fire or pile of snacks.
There will be showers. Plenty of places to sleep in the RV & Airstream. Bring your favorite blankey if you're scared of the dark.
For the early risers, let's go explore the south end of the network.
Fun Times > B-Line > Uno Mas
Or just keep hittin the snooze button...

Let's do a full tour of the highlights.
